A 90-year-old woman has been charged over the car crash death of a 17-year-old boy in Carlingford last year.
The incident occurred just before midday on December 1, when emergency services were called to Rembrandt Street in the north-western Sydney suburb following reports a car had hit two teenage boys.
A Mitsubishi Lancer had mounted the kerb and collided with a van parked in the driveway of a home, striking the two boys. Calvin Wijeweera, a 17-year-old Carlingford High student, was pinned underneath the van and later died at the scene.A second boy was seriously injured in the collision. The 90-year-old driver had to be cut out of her vehicle and suffered a leg injury as a result of the crash.The crash occurred in the Sydney suburb of Carlingford.
