THE education sector remains the top priority in the Philippine government's 2025 General Appropriations Act , as Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized.'Looking at the final computation by Congress, it is clear that education remains the biggest allocation with P1.055 trillion overall budget for this sector, surpassing public works, which received P1.007 trillion,' Pangandaman explained.

Salaries of professors, provision of classrooms and infrastructures are accounted under the entire education sector,' Abuel added.'DepEd can reprioritize existing programs and tap the budget of slow-moving projects to cover the Computerization Program, of course, subject to the rules of the use of savings and approval from the President,' Pangandaman elaborated on the Congress' P9.9 billion budget cut taken from the DepEd Computerization Program or DCP.
