EDSA vehicle volume surpassed pre-pandemic level —MMDA

Based on MMDA data, the daily average number of vehicles plying EDSA is now 410,000 or 5,000 higher than the daily average before the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a speech during the Motorcycle Consultation Workshop, MMDA Chairman Carlo Antonio Dimaguya III cited the simultaneous implementation of major infrastructure projects, road constructions, rehabilitation projects in Metro Manila, the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, and the expansion of face-to-face classes in schools as reasons for the increase in vehicles on EDSA.

He also noted the high volume of registered vehicles in the National Capital Region , which he said is the largest among all regions in the country.
