Happy Easter from Toyota PH 🐣
The Veloz used to be the top-spec variant of the Avanza called the Avanza Veloz. But for its third-generation guise, it drops the Avanza name and is marketed as a standalone model. In fact, TMP calls it a"compact SUV" instead of an MPV, which means, the 7-seater is set to take on the likes of the Honda BR-V and the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.
Following the Indonesian-spec Veloz, the new model could come with a single-engine offering: the 1.5-liter 2NR-VE Dual VVT-i inline-four found in the range-topping Avanza G and could be mated to a continuously variable transmission . Should that be the case, it will be interesting to see where the Veloz would line up. We should not forget that Toyota is also offering the Rush with the same 7-seat compact SUV segment but with rear-wheel-drive.
