When President Rodrigo Duterte warned of 'very dangerous times ahead,' he was preparing government troops to battle extremist group ISIS.

When President Rodrigo Duterte warned of"dangerous times ahead," he was preparing government troops to battle extremist group ISIS.

" being fought now is the most dangerous and that prompted me to say that I see danger ahead. I’m talking of the ISIS... They are the extremists who just want to kill and destroy," he said during a TV interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. He previously raised alarm with his pronouncement that he wants to beef up police and military arms for"dangerous times ahead." On July 9, he said he wants security forces to be equipped to challenge the enemies of the state and terrorists. He also appeared to worry about attacks in areas even outside known strongholds of extremist groups."So you can never say that you are driven because a powerful ideology na gusto mo lang sirain. You know, God, Allah, balances the whole thing.

Duterte earlier said he hopes to complete the phases of the Armed Forces of the Philippines' modernization program before his terms ends in 2022.
