President Rodrigo Duterte is set to make the announcement on House leadership sooner than June 28, a source close to him told the media.
The source added the chief executive is having difficulty choosing among the top contenders for the speakership.
They are Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco, Leyte Representative-elect Martin Romualdez, and Taguig Pateros Representative-elect Alan Peter Cayetano. The aspirants, who are deemed qualified for the job, are allies and friends of Duterte, the source said.
