FORMER president Rodrigo Duterte visited Malacañang on Wednesday to meet with his successor, Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. to disclose details of his recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed.

The past and present leaders 'also discussed other issues,' according to the PCO Secretary Chelo Garafil in a statement.Duterte, accompanied by Senator Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go and former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea, likewise 'gave some good pieces of advice to President Marcos' Garafil said but did not provide any other details of the meeting.

To recall, Duterte went to Beijing last month to meet with Xi — a trip Marcos said he was aware of.The Chief Executive said he would welcome any input from his predecessor, especially when it comes to resolving outstanding issues between the two countries.'As long as there will be someone who can help. I am sure that he will be able to tell us what happened during their conversation and see how that affects us,' Marcos said in an earlier interview.
