China may become the first country to discover a vaccine for the new coronavirus disease, President Duterte disclosed Thursday night (May 28).
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte updates the nation on the government’s efforts in addressing the coronavirus disease at the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang on May 28, 2020.
“Kaya lang itong China hindi ito hambog. Wala itong ere. Tut they, you know, they work and I’m very sure that they will be the first one — one of the countries that would be able to come up with a vaccine,” he added. “Remember the COVID microbes are still in the air that you breathe, that you pass on to your fellowmen if you are not ready or willing to wear the mask. It is precisely — this is the protection, not for you if you do not want it, but for the protection of the other guy,” he said.
“For you to pass the virus, if you get it from one place and from another person and pass it to the other guy, that’s different. That is where the right of the state comes in so that to prevent a mass contagion,” he said.
