The Honours Bachelor of Community Mental Health program is welcoming its first students in September 2023.
Over the course of four years, students will get training and expertise in the growing world of mental health supports. The curriculum covers counselling theory, social psychology and social justice, along with professional practices and more. Graduates can look ahead to careers in organizations and institutions supporting people with mental health needs.
“With one in five Canadians experiencing a mental illness each year, there is an unprecedented need for increased services and experts in the community mental health field,” said Dr. Elaine Popp, executive vice president for academics at Durham College.
