THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has tightened the noose on advertising vape products and streamlined regulations on their importation.

THE Department of Trade and Industry has tightened the noose on advertising vape products and streamlined regulations on their importation.In a social media post on Friday, the agency explained the details of two Department Administrative Orders released on Aug. 1.DAO 25-09 prohibits the use of vape flavor descriptors in advertising, sales and displays that unduly attract minors, in support of youth protection and public health.

Under the order, “only vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products, their devices and novel tobacco products with a valid Philippine Standard license shall be allowed to be imported into Philippine territory, including duly chartered economic and freeport zones, and duty-free shops.”It also supports the implementation of DAO 22–06, which establishes mandatory product certification requirements.
