The Department of Social Welfare and Development led the kick-off for the Inter-Agency National Indigenous Peoples Birth Registration Special Project through the ceremonial signing of a memorandum of agreement with partner-agencies last Dec. 15.
“This project will not only include indigenous peoples in the national registry of birth but will likewise pave the way for inclusion towards building and fostering relationships between their community and the government,” Tulfo said. Moreover, the convergence effort of the DSWD and its partner-agencies is focused on bringing birth registration closer to IPs and ICCs in different parts of the country.
