More than P97.1 billion emergency subsidies have been distributed to over 17.2 million beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) nationwide, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said on Sunday evening (May 17).

Based on the DSWD’s SAP monitoring report as of 8 p.m., May 16, 97.1 percent of the P100 billion SAP funds allocated for the first tranche of cash aid has been released to beneficiaries in the 17 regions.

It noted that out of the P81.7 billion SAP funds downloaded to the local government units , P78.5 billion has been disbursed to a total of 12,959,661 non-Pantawid Pamilya families. Meanwhile, the number of families of transport network vehicle service and public utility vehicle drivers that benefited from the SAP stood at 62,028. The TNVS and PUV families got a P496.2 million subsidy allocation, DSWD said.

She reminded the LGUs to immediately submit their liquidation reports after completing the SAP payouts.
