DSWD: ‘Odette’ evacuees rise to over 313K

The number of people who were staying in evacuation centers following the onslaught of typhoon Odette increased to over 313,000 or more than 79,000 families, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Sunday, Dec. 26.

The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center report showed that as of 6 a.m., Dec. 26, 313,096 individuals or 79,392 families have been logged as evacuees, staying in 1,183 evacuation centers.

The DROMIC report noted that the number of families affected by Odette increased to 1,053,157 or 4,137195 individuals from 5,985 barangays.
