DSWD chief says P100-B distributed to 4Ps for COVID19 crisis, admits gaps for others
MANILA - The Department of Social Welfare and Development has distributed P100 billion in cash to beneficiaries of the government's Pantawid ng Pamilyang Pilipino Program to help them during the COVID-19 crisis, its chief said early Thursday.
He added that transport group beneficiaries, who were forced to stop working due to the suspension of public transport, were also included in the DSWD's distribution for 4Ps members. Bautista admitted they had problems with the program since the DSWD has no list of social amelioration beneficiaries. He added that they thought LGUs would come up with the list since they have a profile of their constituents.
"Hopefully in due time, we will be able to distribute the cash amelioration systematically and orderly."
