A Durham police officer is being temporarily demoted after allegedly driving while impaired in Quinte West.
According to a DRPS ruling released on June 4, he will be demoted from first-class Constable to second-class Constable for a 12-month period.According to news reports at the time, OPP were initially called to an unrelated collision on Frankford Road, northwest of Belleville. An officer was investigating the scene when Twiddy drove past and struck them. The officer suffered a minor injury to their hand.He later pleaded guilty in court to driving while having an alcohol concentration over 80.
