Workers nationwide may opt to enjoy a long holiday break or hefty pay this Holy Week.

MANILA, Philippines —

This double pay applies to the first eight hours of work and an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate for overtime work, the DOLE said in an advisory. On top of the 230 percent, they will also get an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate for work done beyond eight hours.On Black Saturday, the DOLE stressed that the “no work, no pay” principle shall apply.

Since Black Saturday is a non-regular holiday, workers who opt to report for work shall only receive an additional 30 percent of the daily rate.
