BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently turned over a P613,256 livelihood grant to the Gagmay na Mamingwitay sa Tagana-an Fisherfolk Association in Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte.

The release of this livelihood grant will surely boost the bangus or milkfish production of Tagana-an and neighboring areas in the province, DOLE-13 Director Joffrey M. Suyao said.

The turnover was graced by Tagana-an municipal officials led by Mayor Cesar B. Diaz, DOLE-Surigao del Norte Field Office head May C. Velonta, and officials and members of the association. The local chief executive shared to the association a comprehensive understanding on the process needed prior to the distribution of the livelihood assistance.
