The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Wednesday announced the creation of a tripartite monitoring body to ensure the implementation of the proposed Philippine Labor and Employment Plan (PLEP).

He noted they are already creating the tripartite action planning sessions “to give flesh and substance to the priorities, outcomes and strategies” under the PLEP. He stressed the importance of the participation of the employers and workers in the said monitoring council since the PLEP is a tripartite document.

The labor chief gave the assurance amid concerns from the labor sector that some members of the Cabinet, particularly those from the economic cluster, will not push for the full implementation of the PLEP.
