THE Department of Health announced Thursday, October 28, 3,694 new cases of coronavirus disease that brought the country’s total case count to 2,772,491.The total recoveries in the country have reached 2,680,081 or 96.7 percent, while the death toll rose to 42,575, or 1.53 percent.

Only 1.8 percent or 49,835 of the total confirmed cases have remained active, said the health department. Majority or 73.4 percent of the Covid-19 cases in the Philippines were still considered mild, while 10.97 percent were moderate. The severe cases stood at 6.2 percent and the critical cases were at 2.6 percent.

The DOH said one laboratory failed to submit data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System on October 26. This contributed more or less 0.2 percent of the samples tested and 0.1 percent of individuals who tested positive for coronavirus, based on the data in the past 14 days. The health department continued to remind the public to observe the minimum health protocols to further bring the country’s Covid-19 cases down.
