DOH reports 14,640 new Covid-19 cases in the past week

The Department of Health on Monday, July 18, said a total of 14,640 Covid-19 cases were recorded in the past week.

According to the DOH’s weekly bulletin, average daily cases increased again to 2,091, which is 44 percent higher than from July 4 to July 10. The case bulletin also showed 589 patients with severe and critical Covid-19 infections are admitted, constituting 8.7 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.On the other hand, 5,189 out of 21,809 or 23.8 percent of non-ICU beds are being utilized.

DOH’s case bulletin also recorded one more death from Covid-19 although none of it occurred from July 4 to 10. Meanwhile, of the total eligible population of 65,340,001 we have boosted 15,592,533, DOH said. Of this, there are 49,747,468 individuals left due for boosters. Earlier this year, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases or IATF set the target population to 80 percent of the total population, or 89.2 million out of the 111,572,254 total population.
