The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a Code White Alert for hospitals in anticipation of the travel rush of Filipino families during this year's Holy Week break.

The Department of Health has issued a Code White Alert for hospitals in anticipation of the travel rush of Filipino families during this year's Holy Week break.In a statement, the Health department said the Code White Alert will start on March 24, Palm Sunday, and conclude on March 31, Easter Sunday.With Code White Alert in place, identified medical personnel and staff are placed on standby for the immediate acceptance and treatment of incoming patients at hospitals.

The Philippine Ports Authority expects close to 2 million travelers on seaports, while the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange projected some 1.7 million passengers during the same period.As more Filipinos are expected to troop to provinces, the DOH reported that its Centers for Health Development in the regions are coordinating with their respective Regional or Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, especially in tourist sites and places of worship.
