The Department of Health (DOH) has lauded local government units (LGUs) across Western Visayas region with high vaccination of children below five-years-old against measles and rubella (MR) as well as administration of oral polio vaccine. ManilaBulletin

Other localities in Negros Occidental province with high vaccination coverage are Murcia town with 92.61 percent rating and Silay City with 91.78 percent. In the island-province of Guimaras, the town of San Lorenzo had the highest vaccination coverage with 74.93 percent or 1,710 children out of the 2,282 target. The town of Sibunag had a 73.48 percent coverage while the capital town of Jordan had 70.53 percent.
In Aklan province, the town of Nabas had the highest vaccination coverage or 2,353 out of the target 3,244 children.
