SANS any subsidy budget allocation, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation will continue to provide health benefits for all its members.This was the assurance given by the Department of Health , stating that the operations of PhilHealth will not be affected by the lawmakers' decision to slash the agency's subsidy funds.
“The DOH is confident that PhilHealth has the cash on hand to continue and even improve benefit delivery well into the next two to three years,” Herbosa said.It was noted that PhilHealth’s total benefit spending in 2023 was P74 billion, while its accumulated net income was recorded at P463.7 billion.From January 1 to September 30, 2024, the agency's benefit spending has reached to P135 billion.The DOH also noted that PhilHealth has already secured a reserve fund of P280.
