Based on the monitoring of the 62 sentinel sites, the cases were recorded from December 22 up to 6 a.m. of December 29. The DOH said 115 of the victims are below 19 years, and mostly male — with 127 cases The DOH said that it will continue to push for Filipinos to be healthier and safer from fireworks-related injuries.
The DOH reminds the public to use safer alternatives to firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices by participating in community fireworks displays and by using other noise and light producing devices such as sound systems, light emitting devices, percussion instruments, pans, tambourines, and bells.
