MORE than 400 new coronavirus disease cases and two new deaths were reported by the Department of Health on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

In its 4 p.m. December 28 bulletin, the DOH said the country recorded another 421 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total caseload to 2,839,111. The positivity rate in the Philippines stood at 2.6 percent, based on the 18,122 samples tested on December 26. The DOH reported two additional deaths that brought the total number of patients who have succumbed to the disease to 51,213.Aside from the new cases and deaths, the DOH also logged 248 additional recoveries, raising the total number of patients who have managed to recover from the disease to 2,778,148.Less deaths and recoveries, the Philippines currently has 9,750 active infections, with over 3,700 considered mild and more than 3,300 moderate cases.
