The Department of Energy is bidding out 20 pre-determined areas with a combined renewable energy capacity of more than 247.98
It is offering three geothermal areas for private sector development including the 100-MW Buguias-Tinoc geothermal project in Ifugao, the 40-MW Mabini geothermal project in Batangas and the 20-MW Mt. Sembrano geothermal project in Rizal and Laguna.
Also offered are the 16.3-MW Carac-an hydro, 4-MW Ruparan hydro, 5.65-MW Canayan hydro, 7-MW Three Rivers hydro, .3-MW Catuiran hydro, 3.6-MW Langaran hydro and 1.71-MW Baua hydro. The DOE said applications would be evaluated based on the work program, technical qualification and financial qualification. The highest-ranking application that meets the requirement will be selected, it said.
