“Do not argue, do not fight,” Insp. Rich Harris said.

Toronto police have made a series of arrests in connection with the “troubling” rise in carjackings, Insp. Richard Harris of the hold-up squad said Tuesday.

Uniformed and plain-clothes officers are patrolling “hot spot” areas in the city — including the Yonge Street corridor — and the service has launched a “carjacking team” solely dedicated to investigating the crime. In May, thieves took off in Toronto Maple Leafs star winger Mitch Marner’s black Range Rover outside the Queensway movie theatre in Etobicoke. No arrests have been made in that case.

At the time of his arrest, police seized a loaded handgun and narcotics, a police news release said. A second suspect remains at large.
