The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reports processing over 2.6 million overseas Filipino worker (OFW) contracts in 2024, a significant increase from the previous year. Secretary Hans J. Cacdac attributes the surge to intensified screening processes and the implementation of an online processing system. The DMW also highlights a doubling of illegal recruitment establishments shut down, with 15 closures and 71,000 online postings taken down.

He attributed the surge in processed contracts to their intensified screening process and the implementation of their online processing system. In its latest data, DMW reported that the number of deployed OFWs from January to October 2024 was over 2.2 million.
