MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on raised the amount of financial assistance for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families under their Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFWs na Nangangailangan (Aksyon) Fund.
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers on raised the amount of financial assistance for overseas Filipino workers and their families under their Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFWs na Nangangailangan Fund.In the DMW 's Department Order 05 signed by Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, affected OFWs and their next of kin can receive between P50,000 and P100,000 of assistance from the agency.
Meanwhile, those who suffered illness or with a mental health condition, abuse or exploitation that resulted in disability, injury or mental issue, those displaced in war and the next of kin of OFWs on death row in their host countries are expected to receive P75,000.The next of kin of OFWs who died in the host country because of natural or accidental causes and those who died within a year from returning to the Philippines are expected to receive P100,000.
