With 1163 inflatable dinosaurs gathered in town on Saturday afternoon, Dundurn more than tripled the previous world record.

“This is quintessential Saskatchewan,” said director Karla Weber. “I don’t know of anywhere else where you could ask 1000 people to sweat to death in plus-35 degree weather in an inflatable dinosaur costume for the sake of being in an inflatable dinosaur costume. Despite the stifling weather and the thunderstorm warnings, Weber said there was nowhere she would rather have been on Canada Day than in Dundurn, sporting her own dinosaur costume with pride.

And after the drones had flown overhead to count the dinosaurs, Grady took to the stage with the most important announcement of the day: Dundurn didn’t just break the record. With 1163 inflatable dinosaurs gathered in town, they more than tripled it.
