The number of crimes reported from July 1 to September 30 is 72% lower compared to the record of the same period in 2016, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said on Thursday.
In a statement read by DILG Public Affairs and Communication Service director Marlo Guanzon at a press conference, Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos said they continue to keep the peace and order in the country.
“Patuloy rin ang ating pagpursigi upang mapanatili ang peace and order sa ating bansa kaya nakakuha tayo ng 72.33% overall decrease in the number of crimes such as murder, rape, robbery and carnapping committed from July 1 to September 30,” he said.incidence of the eight focus crimes was lower in the first 11 months of 2022These focus crimes include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, carnapping of motor vehicles, and carnapping of motorcycles.
Meanwhile, Abalos said the DILG will continue the war against drugs “with the same intensity as before” under the Marcos administration. He added that the drug war will be implemented “on the basis of his oath as a public official in accordance with the Constitution.” “We will harness the power of the government, communities, youth, schools, churches, the private sector, and every Filipino. We envision a nation in which no life is lost because of drugs,” he said.
