"During COVID a lot of our community members were traveling across the province to go to splash parks, so to be able to bring it to Digby is great," she adds, saying the presentation focused on all of the different age groups that could utilize it. The location will be near a school and Digby's rink.
“The Digby Care 25 donation, I think it was one of their biggest donations to date,” says MacNutt, who is also a member of Digby Care. Working with the Digby Area Recreation Commission, the society is hoping to build the splash park next year.“We have a couple of different fundraisers coming up and we’re looking forward to applying for some of those bigger grants from the province and the federal government.”
This was the second donation of the year by Digby Care 25. In March, the Electric City Society in Weymouth was the beneficiary. A third donation is also coming up. At its September meeting the Atlantic Hospice Society in support of the Fundy Hospice was chosen for support. The hospice society is a charitable organization.
