China had asked the US to recall the system, but since there has been no response, I thought Marcos Jr. should talk to the Pentagon about it.
We do not know whether the sordid malpractice stopped after the Philippines had become a nuclear-weapon-free state and a member of the Southeast Asia nuclear-free zone. We have yet to hear a categorical declaration on this.The mid-range US missile system reportedly sitting in Laoag is nothing like the Soviet missiles that Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev shipped to Cuba in 1962.
