Malacañang assured that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will help hundreds of Filipinos in Israel who are at risk of being deported.

Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo made the statement after hundreds of Filipino families in Israel are caught up in a legal battle that has put them at risk of deportation.

In an interview, Panelo was certain that the DFA will assist the troubled Filipinos in the Holy Land. Only recently, the deportation of Rosemary Perez and her 13-year-old son Rohan was delayed after the Filipino domestic worker vocally protested their expulsion while on board the plane, prompting their removal from the aircraft.

The AFP reported that according to Immigration Authority spokeswoman Sabine Haddad, Perez has been illegally staying in Israel for 10 years.
