Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. on Monday said he will bring up with China the case of the 22 Filipino fishermen who have yet to be compensated by the owner of the Chinese vessel involved in the boat ramming incident near Reed bank in the West Philippine Sea in June last year.
“Now that you mention it, I will bring it up with China,” Locsin said in an interview over ANC’s Headstart program.
Right after the incident, the Chinese vessel fled the scene and left the Filipino fishermen afloat for hours until a passing Vietnamese boat came to rescue them.
