DFA: More overseas Filipinos test positive for COVID19; total now at 569

MANILA--The Department of Foreign Affairs reported a 6 percent increase in confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 cases among overseas Filipinos as of April 7, with most of the new infections and deaths recorded in the Americas.However, the number of recoveries significantly increased at 19 percent, the highest in the past two weeks.

As of Tuesday, there are now 569 total confirmed cases among overseas Filipinos, of which 346 are undergoing treatment, 158 have recovered or have been discharged while 65 died. “We owe the increasing number of recoveries to all the brave health workers across the globe who continue to risk their lives to ensure the health of our kababayan abroad,” the DFA said.
