MANILA - The Department of Education on Sunday said they would be releasing a set of health standards to be followed by schools as they prepare for the incoming school year.
Speaking to ABS-CBN's Teleradyo, Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said the education department would come up with a set of minimum health standards for schools, such as physical distancing and the use of protective equipment such as face masks.
"'Yan ay ilalabas natin ngayong darating na Linggo, 'yung aming required health standards at siyempre, kaakibat niyan 'yung budget, resources and support that we will put in," Malaluan said. He also said DepEd would come up with its own testing protocol for teachers, which they will be presenting to the Department of Health.
DepEd earlier announced it would move the opening of classes this year from June to August while the country continues to battle the novel coronavirus pandemic. The department will also be implementing various approaches in delivering lessons to students, such as technology-mediated learning through computers and cellphones, the use of media like television and radio, and other offline methods.
