THE Department of Education is looking into the alleged involvement of 12 private schools across the country in the inclusion of “ ghost students ” under the Senior High School Voucher Program.In a statement, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara said they launched a thorough investigation on personnel and officials who may be involved in the fraudulent activity, and this could result in the termination of a school’s participation in the Senior High School Voucher Program.
He said the ghost students were identified as beneficiaries of the government's voucher program but could not be located..“We take these allegations seriously. Any form of misuse of public funds intended for critical education programs will not be tolerated. This investigation is a necessary step as we pursue the truth and hold accountable those responsible,” said Angara..
