The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday said the reported delay in the payment for bus consortiums servicing the EDSA Carousel was due to the transition process in administration.

Interviewed on GMA News’ Unang Balita, LTFRB officer-in-charge Riza Marie Paches said the agency is currently transferring old funds to new funds for the EDSA Carousel. “Nagkaroon tayo ng additional na pondo para hanggang end of the year. So normal lang po talaga na, hindi naman siguro pagre-review, but may transition kasi 'yung paglipat nila doon sa kabilang pondo na na-use up papunta doon sa bago nating source ng pera,” she said.
According to her, the LTFRB is checking on the reported delay and will comply with its commitment to the pay the consortiums on time.on the EDSA Carousel under its “Libreng Sakay” program, which is set to end on December 31, 2022.Meanwhile, Paches said the number of bus units in EDSA Carousel are decreasing because some bus units are malfunctioning and need to be replaced.According to Paches, the LTFRB will coordinate with fleet managers to address the reduced deployment of bus units.
