Rain or Shine may have absorbed its first lopsided loss of the season at the hands of Barangay Ginebra but head coach Yeng Guiao remained defiant and urged his wards to not lose their character amid the setback.

For one, all is not lost for the Elasto Painters, who remained in the hunt not only for one of the Top 4 spots but also the top seed in Group B.

The loss was only the second for Rain or Shine and still good with a 5-2 record in tie with Ginebra and San Miguel on the lead. However, Guiao admitted that the defeat against the Kings stings more as compared to their first against the Beermen. “We just need to be careful on how we treat yung loss na ito, find ways to keep our momentum going and look for something positive which you can take out of this loss,” he added.

“Pumutok lang yung three-point shooting nila nung third I think ‘yon iyong key dito sa laro na ito. For a while as good as Brownlee played, as good as Japeth played, we were hanging in there, nakabuntot pa kami sa ganda nung nilalaro ng dalawa,” Guiao pointed out.
