Two mums whose babies died days after birth at Mackay Base Hospital have alleged there were shortcomings in their care. Chloe Stanley lost her daughter Everlee in May last year, and Jenna McGregor’s son Hugo died in January.
Mum’s anguish after losing baby at Mackay Base Hospital. Stanley said Everlee was suffering a lack of oxygen to her brain after blood clots were found in the umbilical cord and placenta. She was declared brain-dead at birth. “Who knows how long she was without oxygen for,” her partner Tyden Auguston told 7NEWS. Stanley had contacted the hospital several times after she began bleeding at night late in the pregnancy.
