MANILA--The Bureau of Internal Revenue has further extended the filing of income tax returns, as the enhanced community quarantine continues until May 15.

Under BIR Revenue Regulations 11-2020, taxpayers can file and pay 2019 income tax returns until June 14. The previous deadline was May 30.

The law sets the filing of income tax returns on April 15 annually, but it was moved this year after Luzon was placed on enhanced community quarantine from mid-March. The lockdown was extended 18 days to April 30.Card The bureau on Friday said it pushed back the deadline for filing of income tax returns to the end of May after the Luzon lockdown period was extended.

BIR deputy commissioner Arnel Guballa said all other deadlines, such as the value-added tax scheduled for the month of April are given a 30-day grace period, he said.
