The Social Security System on Saturday announced the appointment of an officer-in-charge who will take over the helm of the pension fund after the resignation of Rolando Ledesma Macasaet as its president.In a statement, SSS said the Social Security Commission — the pension fund’s policy-making body— appointed Commissioner Robert Joseph De Claro as its new officer-in-charge effective October 11, 2024.
“As a Commissioner, he chaired the IT and Collection and Contribution Committee and participated in key committees covering audit, risk, investment, and governance,” it added.Macasaet, meanwhile, stepped down as president and CEO of SSS after he accepted the nomination of SSS-GSIS Pensyonado party-list which is vying for a House seat in the May 2025 elections.
