DAVAO CITY – This city was declared as the second safest city in Southeast Asia in the Numbeo Southeast Asia: Safety Index for 2023 with a 72.4 safety index score.
Penang City, Malaysia; Hanoi, Vietnam; Makati City, Philippines; Bangkok, Thailand; Iloilo City, Philippines; Pattaya, Thailand; and Bali, Indonesia ranked fourth to tenth.
Numbeo Southeast Asia said Manila and Quezon City had a 65.4 and 63.2 crime index, respectively. Third and fourth were Kuala Lumpur and Klang in Malaysia. The material was gathered from the surveys hosted on Numbeo’s website, using questionnaires structured similarly to those in many scientific and government surveys. The index is calculated from 0 to 100.
“This would motivate them to continue their mandate of serving and protecting the people of Davao City and the entire Davao region,” said the PRO-11, who thanked those who participated in the survey.
