New faces at the City Council In January 2024, the newly elected Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President for Davao City Chapter, January Duterte, joined the session. She urged Dabawenyos to respect barangay captains, emphasizing the difficulty of their jobs, and expressed gratitude to the barangay captains, her constituents in Catalunan Grande, and her family for their support. January is the wife of Davao City First District Representative Paolo 'Pulong' Duterte and the Barangay Captain of Catalunan Grande. She also served as ABC president in 2013, running unopposed.
