The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) partners with an Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (ARBO) in Zamboanga Sibugay to boost their production and marketing of signature spicy vinegar, sinamak.
The Department of Agrarian Reform ( DAR ) is providing Php 500,000 in infrastructure support to the Kauswagan Integrated Farmers Services Association (Kifsa), a DAR -assisted Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization ( ARBO ) in Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay.
This funding, allocated through the Village Level Farm-Focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) Project, will be used to upgrade Kifsa's processing center, aiming to enhance production capacity, improve product quality, and expand the ARBO's market reach. Beyond infrastructure, the DAR will also provide training to Kifsa members on product quality enhancement, guided participation in trade fairs, and other business development activities to solidify their presence in the local market. This comprehensive support reflects DAR's commitment to empower ARBs beyond land distribution by fostering sustainable livelihoods through enterprise development initiatives. Kifsa is known for producing sinamak, a signature spicy vinegar. Mabuhay Mayor Edreluisa Caloñge expressed the municipal government's full support for the project, emphasizing the local government's dedication to uplifting its people through livelihood programs. Local stakeholders, including DTI-Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Director Ma. Rovie Manzanares, Kifsa Chairperson Olivia Omamalin, and Kauswagan Village Chief Leonardo Omamalin, conveyed their gratitude and pledged their full cooperation to ensure the project's success. The DAR remains steadfast in its commitment to uplifting ARBs and their families through enterprise-driven programs, paving the way for sustainable agrarian reform and economic growth
