The Clore River is part of the Skeena River watershed.In a written statement, Calgary-based TC Energy said that at all its sites, including the Clore River, the work it is doing is fully authorized and permitted by regulators.
“At this time, there have not been any non-compliances identified,” commission spokeswoman Lannea Parfitt said in an email.The company said it has been inspected on this pipeline more than 500 times, getting a completely clean bill of health on 90 per cent of inspections, well above the 82 per cent industry average. It said regulators have not identified any non-compliance at the Clore River crossing.
If sediment leaves the work site and goes downstream, it can cover salmon eggs and make habitat non-usable for fish, he said.
