Championship MVP Reagan Crowell and senior Allison McCloy led the Dal women to their 21st consecutive conference title. Crowell won gold in the 100, 200, 400 and 800-metre freestyle events while McCloy captured the 200 and 400 individual medleys, the 200 butterfly and 200 breaststroke. Both Crowell and McCloy earned 80 points in the meetAcadia’s Sophie Rooney was named the rookie of the meet with 77 points with wins in the 50, 100 and 200 backstrokes and a silver in 200 IM.
Crowell was named the AUS female swimmer of the year for the second straight season while Acadia’s breaststroke star Gordon Shortt earned the men’s honour. At the championship meet, Shortt won gold the 50 and 100 breast and the 200 IM and silver in the 200 breast.Abbey Stroud of Mount Allison and Matthew Croft of UNB were the recipients of the AUS student-athlete community service awards.
