The Bureau of Customs seizes P1.5 million worth of high-grade marijuana called kush declared as men’s garments and being smuggled into the country through the Port of Clark in Angeles City, Pampanga.THE Bureau of Customs has seized high-grade kush concealed in garments at the Port of Clark in Angeles City, Pampanga worth more than P1.5 million.
The shipment, declared as “Men’s Track Suit, polyester men’s cotton shorts,” was flagged for examination by BOC’s X-ray Inspection Project after unusual images were detected.During the physical examination, the agents uncovered four vacuum-sealed pouches containing Kush. The shipment was wrapped in garments apparently to avoid detection during physical inspection.
Samples were taken and turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for chemical laboratory analysis, subsequently confirming that the substances were dried marijuana. The seizure of the illegal drugs was part of the bureau’s continuing drive to prevent smuggling and protect the country against the dangers of illegal substances attempting to infiltrate Filipino communities.
