MELAKA: A fisherman made a surprise catch - a 3m-long crocodile - at the Anjung Batu fishing jetty. However, the reptile weighing about 230kg was found lifeless.
Melaka Wildlife and National Park director Petra Sulai said his team was alerted to the discovery at 10am on Sunday .Petra said the female crocodile was believed to venture along the Sungai Kesang shoreline and was in search of food and a partner.
Sungai Kesang, the waterway that marks the border of Melaka and Johor is known as a habitat for saltwater crocodiles.Meanwhile, Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Ahmad Jamil Radzi said no police report has been made by the fisherman on the incident.
